AndrewPKYap SG is there some sort of terrifying mod rule that closes threads after a certain number of pages?
the Bear SG chief suggested long ago during the Age of the Great Lag that we should try to limit ourselves to 2000 posts per topic as it may cause undue stresses on the server... so, it's just something we do out of courtesy
AndrewPKYap SG hahaha I never knew... no wonder pika wanted his thread in ~SC~ to get to 81... I was wondering why
the Bear SG trying to get some semblence of order to my email inbox... how come those who commit the worst atrocities in email are always the senior management? if someone sends something in attachment for their attention and information, and it's bloody 2MB, detach the &*$#ing attachment before forwarding or replying!! after the initial reply, the rest of the $&*#ing senior management come in with mutual back-slapping as opposed to their usual back-stabbing, each falling over each other to 'add value' and claim credit where none was due.. and all the work, the initiative and everything had nothing to do with them.. it was all hammered out by one of the ground people with those outside the organisation who mooted the project... sometimes, i think it's not a matter of how good or what you know or whatever, it's how armour-plated your skin is that allows you to climb
av98m SG remember, tonight cheryl fox talks about the xedo saga on channelnews asia at 8:30pm and 11:30 pm
the Bear SG grrrr... i'm supposed to go check the fixed assets ARGH!! i hate checking assets! worse still, i look at the bloody accounts for them, all the items have a book value of $0 now because of depreciation
av98m SG dun get me started on the metric ton of paperwork it takes to condemn the stuff we no longer use but are still functional
LOTUSfairy SG VK show me her nice swimsuit...and I feel like going back to the pool and dog-paddle a few laps.. nice weather somemore...
AndrewPKYap SG one time there was this girl that sent an 8mb attachment to 5 people sitting next to her through the email system and complain that the mail server is very slow....
the Bear SG they took the advise of the con-men-sultants and tai-chi all to the various branches.. it "saves" the organisation some money in that they don't have to hire people to do it.. thing is, it takes away time which we should be actually doing our primary work to do this... sort of like the story of the manager who made his whole section do the mass mailing of catalogues to customers... he was happy that he "saved a lot of money" as he didn't have to hire temp staff.. thing is.. he forgot that 2 days were wasted and his staff are paid about 2 times more than temp staff
